DreamEngine is the only company in the world that takes an author from first manuscript submission through professional story development, professional publication, platform building, literary representation, and film and television production.
No other publisher, agency, or production company combines all of these under one brand. DreamEngine Publishing handles the author. DreamEngine Productions handles the screen. The two companies operate as one business, one pipeline, one brand: a one-stop shop unprecedented in the industry.
At the centre of everything is the Author Content Kit: a data infrastructure built for every DreamEngine author that captures their voice, mythology, story world, and identity. It is the engine that powers every service, every product, and every screen adaptation that begins in the DreamEngine ecosystem.
UK-based hybrid publisher and author services agency. Founded by David Baboulene and Edward J Marsh. Active with published authors across fiction (DreamEngine imprint) and non-fiction (HelpLoveSupport imprint). Offers a full spectrum of author services from hybrid publication through literary representation at the highest level.
Film and television production company led by Dr. David Baboulene, world-renowned story consultant, story scientist, and producer. Has produced feature films. Currently raising production finance for new projects. The natural home for any DreamEngine author whose story has screen potential.
Every author enters through a structured submission form on the DreamEngine website. The form assigns them to one of five Avatar classes based on where they are and what they need. Each Avatar has its own product suite, pricing, and pathway. Avatars are not locked. An author can move between them as their career develops.
For authors with a completed or near-complete manuscript seeking professional publication under the DreamEngine imprint. Three tiers, from straightforward publication through to complete managed authorship. All tiers begin with a £500 assessment fee, credited against the tier fee if the author proceeds. Editing, cover design, and interior design are always quoted separately after the assessment.

DE's most distinctive product. DE operates simultaneously as author marketing agency and literary agent. The goal: a traditional publishing deal with a major or specialist publisher. The proof of concept: Julian DeVille.
Target client: the author who has written a strong book, failed to secure a deal through conventional routes, and has the means and ambition to invest seriously. Edward's current capacity: approximately 2 Avatar 2 authors at a time. Scalable with trained staff.
Two paths: republish under the DreamEngine imprint as an Avatar 1 client, or get equipped to grow independently without republishing. DE does not offer assisted self-publishing. The author publishes themselves. DE provides the diagnosis, tools, and resources to do it properly.
Full Avatar 1 terms. Author chooses their tier. DE republishes the book under the DreamEngine imprint. All Avatar 1 pricing and conditions apply.
Platform assessment and written action plan. Lifetime access to AICK for Authors and PWE for Authors. Onboarding session. Publisher Rocket affiliate recommendation. Access to DE's self-publishing resource hub. Monthly newsletter. No individual ongoing support.
Optional add-on: website build £1,000.
Avatar 4 is where DreamEngine Publishing and DreamEngine Productions converge. A story owner with cinematic or televisual potential enters this pipeline, and the story that began in publishing finds its path to the screen.
The author, screenwriter, or story owner provides their complete material: novel, screenplay, synopsis, or concept. DE runs it through Claude for initial story and market analysis. Claude produces a structured pitch deck draft. Edward reviews. David Baboulene reviews and enriches using his story science methodology. A professional pitch document is delivered.
Pricing for pitch deck creation: to be confirmed with David.
DE offers professional story analysis and development consultancy powered by the methodology of Dr. David Baboulene. Two service models are under consideration. Both require David's input before this section can be completed.
A high-level, high-cost direct consultancy service with Dr. David Baboulene. David brings his story science methodology to bear on the author's manuscript, screenplay, or concept in a structured professional engagement. This is a premium, selective service. David must confirm whether he is willing to offer this as a formal DE product and under what conditions.
Service structure, capacity, fees, and deliverables: to be confirmed by David.
An AI-powered consultancy service built on David's published methodology. David's books and video content are ingested into Claude to create a structured story analysis workflow. The author submits their complete manuscript. DE runs the manuscript through the workflow and produces a detailed written report. The 65-page report produced for Julian DeVille's manuscript is the delivery template.
Three service tiers under consideration:
Fees for each tier: to be confirmed by David and Edward.
Option 1: Personal Consultancy
Option 2: AI Story Consultancy
A dedicated social media management service available to any author regardless of publisher. Targeted at self-published authors and authors whose publishers are not providing marketing support. DE builds the author's platform from scratch and manages it on an ongoing basis.
This avatar does not include literary representation or publication. It is a pure platform-building and content management service. Any author. Any stage.
The publishing business generates revenue through five streams from its author services: one-time service fees, recurring monthly social media management fees, commission on publishing deals secured through literary representation, 50% of each author's book royalty income in perpetuity, and recurring subscription revenue from AI apps. Each stream is detailed in the sections below.
The highest-value client moves through multiple avatars. An author enters at Avatar 2 (£5,000 build), secures a deal through DE representation (15% commission on advance), continues on managed social media (£3,000/year), and if their story has screen potential, moves into Avatar 4 and the DE Productions pipeline. The ACK built at Avatar 2 powers every stage of this journey. The relationship becomes multi-year, multi-product, and compounding.
Alongside its client services, DreamEngine holds a lifetime licence to sell and exploit two AI app products to authors and book publishers. These products generate recurring subscription revenue at scale with no per-client communication and no DE overhead per sale. Every self-published author in the world is a potential subscriber.
The Author AI Content Kit is ready to launch as a public product. Subscription at £20 per month. Authors use the app to build and manage their complete author identity, content infrastructure, and publishing strategy using AI. The Content Engine Apps (additional tools for social media, blog, and promotional content generation) are sold as add-on modules on top of the base subscription, increasing revenue per user. The app is updated continuously: new features, workflow improvements, and practical guidance on using Claude AI. Revenue scales directly with subscriber numbers and requires no involvement from DE per sale.
The enterprise version of AICK, built for publishing companies. AICK for Publishers replaces traditional CRM systems and gives publishers an AI-powered platform for managing their authors, promoting their books, and integrating AI across their business workflows. Most publishing companies are actively seeking to introduce AI to their operations. AICK for Publishers is a ready solution at £100 per month per company. Each new publisher subscriber brings ongoing recurring revenue with minimal marginal cost.
AICK and the Content Engine Apps were developed by Edward J. Marsh under his separate technology business, selectedshopAI, which deploys the same app infrastructure across other industries. In recognition of DreamEngine as the origin of the concept, selectedshopAI grants DreamEngine a lifetime licence to sell and exploit the AI Content Kit and all related apps to authors and book publishers. DreamEngine does not own the underlying technology but holds perpetual commercial rights to the publishing market.
Two parallel product lines are live or near-ready: a suite for individual authors, and an enterprise suite for publishing companies. AICK for Authors and PWE for Authors are ready now. The enterprise line is weeks away.
The Author AI Content Kit. Authors build and manage their complete author identity, content infrastructure, and publishing strategy using AI. £20/month subscription. Content Engine add-on modules available on top. Licensed to DE in perpetuity by selectedshopAI.
AI-powered social media content generation for individual authors. Reads the author's ACK and produces platform-ready posts, blog content, and promotional copy. Subscription pricing TBC.
Additional Content Engine modules for authors are under active development. New features, workflow tools, and Claude AI guidance delivered on a continuous update cycle.
Enterprise AI author management for publishing companies. Replaces traditional CRM systems with an AI-powered platform for managing authors, promoting books, and integrating AI across business workflows. Built and near-complete. One further month of development and testing before public release. £100/month per publisher.
The social media content generation engine used internally by DE, productised for other publishers. Reads any author's ACK and generates platform-ready posts at scale. One further month of development and testing before public release. Pricing TBC.
Additional enterprise modules for publishers are under active development, including tools for catalogue management, author engagement, and AI-assisted editorial and promotional workflows.
Avatar 6 generates predictable recurring monthly revenue. Every author on the service is a standing monthly fee. The roster compounds: each new author signed adds income that continues for a minimum of 12 months and rolls forward indefinitely thereafter.
At 10 authors on the service at steady state, the recurring monthly income is £2,500/month from management fees alone, before setup fees, add-ons, or royalty income from their books. At 20 authors it is £5,000/month. This is a predictable, low-churn revenue base: authors who invest in platform building do not cancel. The 12-month minimum and rolling continuation means DE builds a reliable recurring income floor that rises with every new author signed.
Every DreamEngine author contract entitles DE to 50% of the author's book royalty income. Today that income is modest. It will not stay that way.
Book royalty income is a long-term compounding asset. Every author DE publishes adds a royalty stream that continues indefinitely. As the roster grows, so does the aggregate income from sales, regardless of any new client activity. This is the passive, accumulating foundation beneath all other revenue.
Four converging forces will accelerate this:
Publishing companies are built on royalty income. It is the model that scales. The more authors DE signs, the more titles in the catalogue, the more promotional infrastructure working simultaneously. Royalty income is not a side effect of publishing. It is the point.
This is a working template. Items in amber require David Baboulene's input. Items in red are not yet in place and must be resolved before the final investor document is issued.

DreamEngine is exploring the concept of maintaining an author's website and social media channels after death, preserving their voice and digital presence as an ongoing legacy, managed in partnership with the author's estate or beneficiaries. Using AI trained on the author's existing writing and content (held in their ACK), DE would continue to generate and post content in the author's established voice.
This service raises significant legal, ethical, and practical questions. It would require the informed consent of the author during their lifetime, the cooperation of beneficiaries and estate executors, and a robust legal framework covering identity rights and estate management. A provisional pricing model of £500/month (months 1–3) then £250/month has been discussed, but no agreement or framework yet exists. This remains a proposal under consideration and is not offered to clients at this time.
